Humberto Mendes Faria Rodrigues

Bachelor and Master in Clinical and Health Psychology at Aveiro University (Portugal) and internship in Coimbra Hospital University Centre (e.g., Intervention in Sleep Disorders and Pain Disorders). Later, worked as a psychologist and neuropsychologist. Also performed a research project in Biofeedback/Neurofeedback by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Is currently working with the Institution of Solidarity Projecto Homem / Braga in the additions field. In parallel, also conducts outpatient consultations in various psychological disorders. Concomitantly, made several national and international communications in various Congress as Guest Speaker in the field of Neuroscience and Editor – Journal of Neurology & Stroke (JNSK); ISSN: 2373-6410 Author of several articles in peer review journals. At the moment, is a PhD student in Neuroscience at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Salamanca – Neurosciences Institute of Castilla y León.

Research interests:  Experimental Psychology, Neuropsychology and Biological Rhythms, particularly  in: Assessment and Neuropsychological Rehabilitation, Drug Abuse and Addiction, Behavioural Neuroscience, Behavioural Management, Biofeedback/Neurofeedback, Sleep Disorders, Pain Disorders.

MSc in Health and Clinical Psychology at Aveiro University, Portugal. Internship in Coimbra Sleep Medicine Center and Chronic Pain Unit at Coimbra Hospital and University Center. MSc thesis entitled “Anxiety, Depression and Stress in Chronic Pain Patients”. Conducted several workshops and presentations regarding sleep, chronic pain and biofeedback/neurobiofeeback associated with anxiety, learning disabilities or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in general biology and a master’s degree in 2013 in biochemistry from University of Tehran, eventually I decided to continue my PhD in the field of neuroscience. and now I am studying medical Neuroscience at Iran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. My areas of interest and research in neuroscience are oxytocin and its role in social behavior, the role of genetics and inheritance in complex cognitive traits, the effect of time perception on impulsivity and risky decision making and so on. I have also experience in the field of molecular-based detection studies.

Dr Al Hashmi works currently as a Sr Consultant Neurologist. She established the first Stroke unit in Oman that headed by her since 2013 up to date. She is also the Vice President and Chair Person Scientific Committee of Oman Medical Association/OMA 2013- up to date. In addition Dr AlHashmi is an associate trainer and Examiner at the Oman Medical Speciality board since 2013 and up to date. Dr AlHashmi is extremely interested in teaching and she is a teacher and final MD examiner at SQU .Dr AlHashmi was an organizer and speaker at multiple medical conferences and workshop nationally and internationally, she currently involved in multiple stroke researches.

PhD Student at Universidade de Aveiro that has develop her project at Duke University (USA). Master in Clinical and Health Psychology from Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Portugal) and completed her internship in Clinical and Health Psychology in the Service of Psychiatry and in the Service of Reproductive Medicine at the Centro Hospitalar do Alto Ave, E.P.E. Guimarães. As a Ph.D. Student, she is obtaining training as an expertise in the major methods and data analysis for cognitive brain research and employing behavioral and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) techniques. Her research involves examining the neural correlates of Emotional Memory processes. Her core academic interest is in behavioral and functional neuroimaging research in distress and human memory and their potential applications as preclinical markers of disease states.

Neurologist and Neurophysiologist. Head of the Alzheimer and Dementia Unit – Neurodegenerative disorders O.U.(A.S.P. 2 Caltanissetta). Regular professor of the courses of Neurophysiology and Neurology at the Technicians of Rehabilitation School (1991-95) and of the courses of Neurology and Psychiatry at the Nursing School (1991-94)of the U.S.L. 16 Caltanissetta. He is a member of a number of scientific neurological societies. Currently, she is working at the University Autónoma of Madrid (UAM) as an Assistant Professor, and she has been recently awarded with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Standard EF. During almost four years, she was a post-doctoral fellow at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). She is mainly interested in the study of aging effects on cognitive processes, motor control and their neural underpinnings with different neuroimaging techniques, such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), electroencephalography (EEG), and magnetoencephalography (MEG).

He was the first Psychiatry College President of the Portuguese Medical Association Board, when specialties Colleges were organized.
